Alberta Ellen Reische Hill, 95, a former resident of Talent, passed away peacefully at her home in Tuscon, AZ on August 13, 2021.
Alberta was born in Meridian, CA to Parker and Alberta Reische, and grew up on a farm outside Meridian. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Sutter Union High School, and she received B.A. and M.A. degrees from California State University, Hayward.
Alberta was a longtime educator in the California Public Schools System, serving as a teacher and choral group director in the Fremont and Pleasanton Unified School Districts for more than 20 years. Following her retirement in 1983, Alberta and her husband Bob relocated to Talent, where they lived for 30 years.
Alberta and Bob were active members of the Talent Friends Church, where Alberta played the piano during worship services every Sunday morning for many years. Alberta and Bob were also avid travelers, visiting more than 30 countries and all but one of the 50 states.
Alberta loved music, crossword puzzles and Dairy Queen “blizzards.” She was an accomplished musician and singer, seamstress, educator, and planner/organizer. But most of all she was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grand- and great-grandmother, teacher, and friend. She lived a life devoted to serving others and enriched all those who knew her.
Alberta is survived by five children, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Perl Siskiyou Funeral Home (2100 Siskiyou Boulevard in Medford).
