Alfred "Lee" Saunders

Alfred Lee Saunders died at his home on March 10, 2021 at the age of 88, he was surrounded by his Family that loved and cherished him very much.
Lee was born on June 30, 1932 in Medford, Oregon, he was the son of Frank and Hallie Saunders.
Lee married the love of his life Alice Helman on November 30, 1951, they had four children and were married 67 years. Lee served in the US Army from 1949 to 1952, he was a Sargent and fought in the Korean War where he received the Combat Infantry Badge, Combat Medal, Korean War Service Metal, 6 Bronze Battle Stars, (one Silver for 5 and one Bronze for a total of 6 Battles), United Nations Medal, and a Bronze Star Medal. Lee worked and retired from Cascade Wood Products, upon his retirement he became a full time Pastor of Covenant Life Ministries. Pastor Lee was loved, looked up to and respected by all those who knew him. Lee devotedly took care of his Wife for many years as her health began to fail.
Lee is survived by his three children Debby (Tom) Carr, of Gold Hill, Becky (Alan) Pickrel of Medford, Frank (Sue) Saunders of Central Point, 9 Grandchildren and 30 Great Grandchildren.
Family awaiting him in Heaven were his wife Alice Saunders, son Danny Saunders, 3 Sisters Edith Knight, Elsie Henney, Jane Johnson and Martha Sellers.
The Love for Jesus was very evident in Lee's life by his lifelong service and relationship with his heavenly Father. Lee valued his family and his time spent with his Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren meant the world to him.
A Celebration of Life Service is planned for March 27, 2021 At Joy Christian Fellowship at 10:30am, Officiated by Tom Carr and Jeremiah Pickrel.
