Obituary

Allen was born in Adrian MN on April 9th, 1934. He was the oldest of three sons born to Rose Duwenhoegger and Vincent Forrette. When he was 14 the family moved to Rapid City SD. Their father was a contractor and mentored his three sons in the construction industry. He graduated from Rapid City High School and attended Business College. Allen met and married Joyce Hunter in Rapid City in 1956 and later with their family moved to Oregon in 1961. They obtained Oregon Real Estate Licenses and later owned and brokered their own Town & Rural Properties, selling, developing and building homes in the Rogue Valley. Allen was a Korean War Veteran, a member of the Eagles, Moose and a member of Sacred Heart Church. Allen is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, Mark Forrette; daughters Renee (Rick) Ledbetter and Lori(Forrette) Sword; eight grandchildren ; five great-grandchildren; Allen's brother, Gary Forrette; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Allen was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Forrette; and grandson, Leif Sword. Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday Oct. 22, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Eagle Point National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Disabled American Veterans.
