April Lynn Morgan

April Lynn Morgan was born April 21, 1960, second daughter to Robert and Marlene Morgan. We grew up in Sacramento, California, where our single mother worked as a key punch operator for Sears supporting five children, all girls. As kids, we loved music and belted out songs from the Osmond Brothers and the Jackson Five into the ends of wooden spoons and hair brushes pretending they were microphones. Our television was black and white, and there were only three channels. One year, we all got new bikes for Christmas. Early on, April was gifted and beautiful. She did well in school. As a teen, April liked to attend concerts -- The Steve Miller Band, Peter Frampton, and Boston were some of her favorites; she loved music.

On August 9, 1982, April married George P. Molo, Jr., a childhood friend. They lived in Vista, California, with a Doberman Pincher named Baron. On May 19, 1983, their only child Amy Cheri Molo was born, and she was the light of April’s life. April loved living near the ocean, and she and Amy spent a lot of time swimming and playing at the beach. Mother and daughter were tan with long, blond curls. April also loved Jazzercise – dancing and music were always her passion.

April moved north again in 1991. She stayed with our mother for a time and then moved to Cameron Park during Amy’s elementary school years. In 2002, she moved to Auburn, California, to be near her sister Diane. In 2007, Diane married Doug Burns and moved to the Rogue Valley in Medford, Oregon. April again followed.

April attended the Rogue Valley Community College. She loved art and took drawing and painting classes. She kept a stack of her artwork underneath the couch and beamed with pride whenever she could show them off and explain the painting techniques used in each. Her true essence was that she was an artist.

Unfortunately, on February 28, 2019, she died of a heart attack at her home in Medford, Oregon. April was 58. April Morgan is survived by her daughter Amy Molo, two grandchildren, Seth and Milla Battenschlag, her mother Marlene Taylor, three sisters – Diane Burns, Eileen Battaglia, and Dawn Morgan-Lamb, nieces Holly Lynn Robinson and Christina Battaglia Porras, and nephews Nickolas and Steven Tamburo.

April was loving, kind, and had a big heart. She was a good listener and accepted people as they were. She liked to laugh, had a good sense of humor, and made friends easily.  We will all miss her.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. PST, at the New Life Church of the Nazarene, 1974 East McAndrews Road, Medford, Oregon 97504, (541) 779-777.

I am so sorry to hear of April's passing. April and I were roommates in Sacramento, California for a short time in 1979-1980. She used to wake up early in the morning, make me breakfast and read the Bible to me while I got dressed for work. She will forever be in my heart, a truly beautiful person inside out!
