Blake was born August 3, 1940 in Oklahoma City, OK to Victor and Velma Taylor. The family moved to Southern Oregon in the early 40's. Blake attended Washington Grade School, McLoughlin Jr. High and graduated with the class of 1959 at Medford Senior High.
Blake enlisted in the US Navy in 1960 and served honorably as an aircraft machinist mate at Alameda Air Station, Alameda, CA. He was employed for 24 years as a school custodian and ended his career as head custodian at Washington Elementary where he began his education. He was a beloved member of the staff and scores of children he was blessed to call "his kids."
He loved his Southern Oregon roots and spent his leisure time hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was a life member of Rocky Mtn. Elk Assn. and past member of Oregon Hunters Assn.
He is survived by his sisters: Dixie (Richard) Tibbets, Central Point and Jennifer (Dennis) Wickstrom, Salem, OR; nephews Jerry (Sheila) Johnson, Jacksonville, OR; Troy (Kelly) Tibbets, Central Point; Travis (Sheryl) Tibbets, Medford, and Derek Wickstrom, Salem OR. Nine great nephews, three great nieces, one great-great nephew and three great-great nieces.
Blake was predeceased by this parents, sister, Martha Taylor-Johnson, nephew Ronn Johnson and one great niece, Morgan Tibbets
A memorial service for Blake will be held Friday, March 29, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at Perl at Siskiyou Memorial Park Chapel, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd, Medford, OR.
