Carol Patricia Nevard Jacobs passed away peacefully on May 30, 2024 at the age of 84 in Medford, Oregon. She was born on December 3, 1939 to Per and Birgit Nevard and was the eldest of three children. Carol lived a life of kindness and service and will be missed by both family and friends who were changed for the better by her presence in their lives.
Carol grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and San Jose State University where she graduated with a degree in Education. She married William Morton Jacobs, Jr. in 1961 and worked as an elementary school teacher in Menlo Park, CA before leaving to focus on raising her two children. Carol and Bill moved to the Chicago area in 1967 where they lived for 17 years before moving back west to Newport Beach, California and eventually retiring in Oregon's Rogue Valley. Carol was a long time member of the PEO Sisterhood, where she often served as an officer, as well as Westminster Presbyterian Church where she has served as an elder.
Carol is survived by her husband of 63 years Bill, her son Larry Jacobs (Patricia), her daughter Jacqueline Jacobs Ocon (Paul), her sister Judy Wood (Doug) and her brother Peter Nevard (Charlene) along with six grandchildren, four nieces, and four nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held for Carol at 2pm, Saturday, July 27th at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2000 Oakwood Dr. in Medford.
In lieu of flowers Carol donations be made in her name to the Rogue Valley Manor Foundation.
