Obituary

Cheryl Lynn Bain, 77, passed away on August 10 in Medford, Oregon. Cheryl was born on Oct. 18, 1947 in Galesburg, Illinois, to Dr. Lawrence Bain and Leatha (Filson) Bain. She attended Western Lab School and graduated from Western High School in 1965. She graduated from Kansas State University in 1969 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Cheryl married Jack Konitz in 1969 and they had 2 daughters, Kelly Graham (Greg) of Cappell, TX, and Britney Bain of Talent, OR.

In their early years, Cheryl and her family lived in Jackson, Wyoming, and enjoyed the outdoor life of skiing, hiking, camping, fishing and 4H activities. She moved to Southern Oregon with her daughters in 1986.

Cheryl taught at Lone Pine Elementary in Medford for many years. She was a devoted teacher who cherished her students and they returned her affection. She instilled in all a love of learning. Cheryl enjoyed nature and the outdoors. She ran several marathons and was an avid biker, hiker, skier and gardener. She was the best "Grammy" to Morgan Graham (NYC), Peter Graham (Ft. Collins), Aimee Graham (NYC), Zyan Shull-Bain (Corvallis, OR), and Aspyn Shull-Bain (Talent, OR). She took them each on trips to celebrate their 13th birthdays, knitted them throws for college, painted them watercolors, and attended many hours of their activities.

Cheryl "loved to love and be loved in return." She lit up any room with her cheerful, caring, and

loving spirit. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, PEO, Colony Club, and Jackson County Duplicate Bridge Club.

Along with her daughters and grandchildren she is survived by her husband, Jack Agresti, with whom she shared eight years of marital bliss. She is also survived by her sisters Barbara Bain (Pocatello, ID) and Kay Bain (Ashland, OR). The sisters enjoyed many adventures: rafting the Grand Canyon, hiking the Canadian Rockies, discussing Plato and Nietzsche, and spending time with their mother on the Oregon coast playing hundreds of hands of bridge.

In loving memory of Cheryl, memorial contributions can be made to the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2000 Oakwood Drive, Medford, OR 97504.
