IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Coral Stone
Edwards
September 16, 1934 – June 16, 2025
Coral Edwards passed away on June 16, 2025, in Medford, Oregon. She was born Coral Anne Stone on September 16, 1934, in Asheville, North Carolina, to John Herbert Stone and Coral Alberta Beam Stone. Known as "Rocky" as a child, the family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where they welcomed her little brother Richard. Later, they relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where Coral spent most of her teenage years before moving to Portland, Oregon, for her senior year of high school. After graduating from Oregon State University, she accepted a teaching position in Medford, Oregon, where she met her husband, "Keith" Edwards. They were married for 55 years and had two daughters, Victoria Smith and Coni Engle.
Coral and her husband owned and operated Micro-Trains Line manufacturing company, which led to many adventures and travels in the United States and around the world.
Over the years, Coral was involved in Jr. League, PEO, Miss Rogue Valley, and a bridge club for 65 years. However, her greatest passion was the game of golf, where she developed many great friendships. She was a long-time member of the Rogue Valley Country Club, being very active in the ladies' golf program: even hosting Coral's Silver Dollar annual golf tournament in Reno, Nevada for many years.
For the last 26 years, Coral was a snowbird spending 6 months a year at Chapparal County Club in Palm Desert, California. During her time in Palm Desert, she established many wonderful friendships. Coral always loved having a good time with all of her friends.
She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Eric Smith and Scott Engle, 5 grandchildren: Tyler Engle (Ailyn), Rachel Jeffrey (Ben), Kate Smith (Anthony), Caitlin Bidwell (Josh), and Conner Engle (Julia), and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Stone and his children, along with many cousins across the country.
The family has planned a Celebration of life, on August 2, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Rogue Valley Country Club. To honor her sense of fun, you are welcome to wear something that reminds you of Coral (totally optional). She loved OSU Beavers, Mariners baseball, coral-colored lipstick, Hawaii, golf, traveling, and parties.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations to: The Living Desert, Palm Desert California (www.livingdesert.org) or The Rogue Valley Country Club Junior Golf Program (tsnyder@rvcc.com).
