Darlene Marie Mast

In loving memory of Darlene Marie Mast, 93, passed away on July 2, 2021 in Medford, OR. Darlene was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to parents Roy Simpkins Sturdy and Emma Harrick. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Sheryl, her daughter, Terri 8, brother, Glen Sturdy, sisters, Verna Schweiger, Dorothy Jones and Lela McKay. As a young woman she played the steel guitar and worked as an elevator operator in the Stuart Building in Lincoln where she met her first husband. They had 6 children together before the marriage ended. Years later she remarried and moved out to Medford, Or. in 1968 with her 3 youngest children. He passed many years later. They had a family run Nursery for many years, she also worked at Harry & David’s and at the Manor as a chauffeur assisting patients to appointments before she retired there at 72. She was an early member of the Red Hats in Medford which she dearly loved and all the members. Darlene loved her family and loved life and was always happy and on the go. She was not one to let the grass grow under her feet. She was an extremely hard worker and also loved her hobbies. She was an avid reader, loved jigsaw puzzles, always had a book and puzzle going at the same time. She also carved wood for a period of time. Above those though, she loved horses. Her brother Glen, had all types of horses and she loved going back to Lincoln to see all of her wonderful family with many nieces and nephews and their children. Also to spend time with her brother Glen and all of his horses. Years went by and Darlene finally found the love of her life, Irvin Tiry. Together they spent almost 30 fun filled years exploring Oregon and making wonderful memories. They loved camping, traveling, and riding 3 wheelers together plus just spending their time together. Irvin has four children of his own, Irvin, Jerry, Rita and Victoria who have been a part of her life as well as her immediate family’s life. Irv had 17 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. He was such the love of her life that she passed on the 12th day of his passing. They are truly strolling over heaven together now. She is survived by her 4 children, Sharon McKee, Buddy Mast, Tammy Ver Valin, Guy Mast, 8 grandchildren, Sheryl McKee Pieroni, Tracy McKee, Danny McKee, Alecia McKee, Michael Berriman, Nick White, Michelle Foster, Josh Mast and 16 great grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at Perl Funeral Home & Siskiyou Memorial Park Thursday, July 15, 2021. Visitation 9:30-11:00. Memorial Service 11:00. Please join the family at Holmes Park after the funeral. 185 S. Modoc
