Evelyn Elaine Fernau passed away in Canby, Oregon on June 25, 2024 at the age of 95. She was born on July 8, 1928 in Neligh, Nebraska to Mabel and Art Egelhoff. Along with her sister and brother, the family moved to Salem, Oregon in 1934. She graduated from Salem High School in 1944.

Evelyn met and married Marion J. Fernau in 1949. Daughters Linda and Bev were born in Salem before the family moved to Medford, Oregon in 1956. She returned to work in an insurance agency and then worked as a legal secretary. She worked for Joel B. Reeder for many years. Evelyn enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting as well as RV travel.

She was preceded in death by her husband (Marion), daughter (Bev), sister (Irene), brother (Art) as well as her parents. She is remembered by her daughter Linda (Dan), grandchildren: Gary, Cheryl (Scott), Geoff (Shelly) and Craig (Cricket) and 8 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Eagle Point National Cemetery with arrangements handled by Perl Funeral Home. Donations in her name can be made to Gentiva Hospice at https://www.gentivahsp.com.
