James Loren Clevenberg, affectionately known as Jim, passed away on December 3, 2024, at the age of 97, in his hometown of Medford, Oregon. Born on October 13, 1927, in the same city where he would eventually close his eyes for the last time, Jim led a fulfilling life characterized by his unwavering generosity and kindness.

Jim's journey was richly colored by a 49-year marriage with his late beloved wife, Jean (Turnquist) Clevenberg who passed away in 1997, and a subsequent 13-year union with his late wife, Helen (Thornton) Clevenberg who passed away in 2022. Jim's family includes two devoted daughters, Kathy Peel and Carol Clevenberg, two cherished granddaughters, Daisy Peel and Hollie (Peel) Arnold, along with two great-grandchildren who brought tremendous joy to his later years.

After studying engineering at Oregon State University, Jim became a Licensed Professional Engineer in both Oregon and California. He had a 30-year engineering career during which he worked for Boeing, Medford Steel, the State of California, Jackson County, the State of Oregon and the City of Bakersfield. He found solace and excitement in sailboat racing with the Rogue Yacht Club and the Willamette Sailing Club, pursued a passion for automobiles, and cherished the time spent traversing new destinations and enjoying heartfelt moments with family.

Described by those who knew him as a gentle soul with unfaltering kindness, Jim's legacy is one of compassion, hard work, honesty and gentle strength. His memory will continue to be honored by all of the lives he touched. Though Jim's story on earth has reached its peaceful conclusion, the impact of his generous spirit will resonate for generations to come.
