James Ellis Eagar was born just outside of Eagar, Arizona, on October 6, 1953, to Lynn and Larna Eagar. He grew up in Eagar and Cache Valley, Utah, where he met his wife, Deborah Warnick. He graduated from Logan High School and served a 2-year mission for his church in Sapporo, Japan. In 1975 Jim and Debi were married for time and eternity in the Logan Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where Jim started his career as a Journeyman Plumber. There they welcomed three daughters, Carrie, Kim, and Traci, to the family. In 1981 Debi and Jim handpicked the Rogue Valley as the place to raise their family, after which their 4th child, Justin, was born. Debi and Jim started Eagar Plumbing and have lived here for most of their lives. In 2015 Debi was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Jim tenderly cared for her until she died in September 2018. Since then, Jim has spent time with family in Henderson, NV, London, England, and Eagar, AZ. He’s also traveled to Belize and Hawaii.
Jim was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and shared this love with many others whom he considered his brothers and sisters. He enjoyed serving alongside Debi and all of his church family throughout his life.
Jim worked hard and built Eagar Plumbing in the Rogue Valley. He seemed to know everyone and waved to “friends” wherever he went. He loved the outdoors – fishing, hunting, scuba diving, hiking, running, and mountain biking. Golfing was his favorite pastime and he made many life-long friends on the golf course. He was an excellent bread maker and gardener, and loved watching his orchids and African violets grow.
Jim was loved by many, but no one loved him more than his children and grandchildren. Papa loved to tease, tell jokes, and treat the kids to donuts and ice cream. He loved to be with his grandchildren and they made many wonderful memories.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Warnick, parents, Lynn and Larna Eagar, sister Carol, and brothers Jack and David. Jim is survived by his children, Carrie Burton (Matt) of Henderson, NV, Kimberly Haddock (David) of Medford, Traci Spires (Mark) of London, England and Justin (Lindsay) of Ashland; 11 adoring grandchildren; and four siblings, Richard, Jan, Etta, and Timothy.
