James Lee "Jim" DeWald, was born on June 3, 1938, in Randle, Washington. He lived a fulfilling life characterized by laughter, love, and wisdom before his peaceful passing on February 20, 2024, in Medford, Oregon.

After graduating from Myrtle Point High School in 1956, he embarked on a professional journey in Medford that would see him thrive as a Safeway Produce Manager for three decades. He embraced early retirement at the age of 60, dedicating more time to his personal interests like making corn hole boards.

Throughout his life, Jim was known for his magnetic personality, which drew people together around card tables and during outdoor adventures. Jim loved playing cards; it was a part of his daily life. His love for the outdoors was evident in his joy for hunting and fishing.

Jim never missed an Oregon Ducks sports game or cheering on his grandchildren. He was his grandchildren's biggest fan, especially when it came to track and field events. Their achievements brought him immense joy and he never missed a chance to cheer them on.

Jim's legacy is carried on by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, his brother Wayne, sister Janice, mother Marie, and father Sam. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his five children: Mindy Galarneau, Duana Clemons, Danette Hart (Paul), Tammy McClure (Pat), and Tony Brenner (Connie). Jim was also a proud grandfather to five wonderful grandchildren and a great-grandfather to five great-grandsons, each of whom brought him lots of happiness.

Jim will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his stories, laughter, and lessons continue to echo in the hearts of his loved ones.

A Celebration of Life for Jim will be held on Friday, April 26th, 2024 at 2:00pm. Roxy Ann Grange, 1850 Spring St, Medford Oregon.
