Janet Hunter Farquhar

October 16, 1934 - July 18, 2024

Janet (Jenny) Hunter Farquhar, a vibrant and loving matriarch, passed away on July 18, 2024, at the age of 89, at her home in Medford surrounded by family at peace with the Lord.

Born in Kilmarnock, Scotland, Janet lived a life filled with love, family, and service. She met her husband, Edward Farquhar, in 1954, and they were married on December 29th of that year. Together, they raised three children and traveled the world during their 21 years in the military.

Janet's greatest joy was her family, which includes her children, Ronald H Farquhar, Michelle Farquhar Richards, and the late Rodney W Farquhar and also proceeded in death by her husband Edward Farquhar. She was a proud grandmother to three and great-grandmother to six.

A devoted community volunteer, Janet was recognized with numerous awards for her service. She loved dancing, swimming, and participating in her local church.

A memorial service will be held at Eagle Point National Cemetery on August 9th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of cards, the family asks that you keep her close friends and family in your prayers, as she was a great believer in the power of prayer. Donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital on her behalf.

Janet's legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched.
