Joshua James “JJ” Hernandez, born on January 24, 2000, left this world on July 29, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and creativity. It is with a heavy heart that we announce his passing, but we also want to celebrate the life he led and the memories he leaves behind.

Joshua was a man with a heart of gold and an infectious sense of humor. With his funny and witty remarks, he was able to brighten up any room he entered. His genuine laughter could light up the darkest corners and bring smiles to the faces of those around him. Joshua's

His creative spirit knew no bounds. As a poet, writer, and artist, Joshua used his talents to  express himself. His poetry had a way of capturing emotions and painting vivid pictures in our minds.

Joshua possessed a  talent for drawing that brought his imagination to life. His artwork carried a sense of awe and wonder that impressed all who beheld it.

Video games were one of Joshua's  passions. He saw them not only as forms of entertainment but as portals into new worlds where he could explore endless possibilities. In this digital realm, he found solace, adventure, and an outlet for his boundless creativity. His love for gaming will forever be remembered by those who shared in his joy.

Costumes were another avenue through which Joshua expressed himself.  Whether it was Halloween or hanging out with friends, Joshua's costumes transported everyone into the realm of make-believe and allowed them to embrace their wildest dreams.

Joshua cherished his relationships with others, and his heart knew no bounds when it came to generosity. He was a friend who would always be there, ready to lend a listening ear or offer a helping hand. His loyalty knew no bounds, and he touched the lives of many through his kindness and unwavering support.


Bob, his father; Catherine, his mother; Natalie, his sister; Mercedes, his sister; Diego, his brother, and many other relatives mourn the loss of this exceptional individual.  In Silver City, New Mexico, Joshua leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold him dear in their hearts.

Although Joshua's time on this earth was shorter than we all would have liked, the impact he made in our lives is immeasurable. Let us remember him not with tears but with smiles as we recall the joy he brought into our lives. His spirit will continue to live on through every memory shared and every laugh echoed in our hearts.
