Loretta Marian
Broadway
April 1, 1939 – April 21, 2026
Our beautiful Mother, Toni “Loretta” Marian Broadway (née Ferreira), of Medford, Oregon, originally hailed from Oakland/Hayward, CA, passed away peacefully in Medford, Oregon on April 21, 2026, at the age of 87.
Quick to smile, and almost always an optimist, she saw the best in people, and life, and brought utter joy to those she met. She will certainly be remembered by most in laughter when thinking of her delightful quick wit and her funny antics. A true April Fool’s Day baby!
Loretta is predeceased by her parents Mary Julio-Law, Melvin Law, and Edward Ferreira, two husbands, George, and Joe, and three sons Michael, Kelley, and Gary. She is survived by 5of her 8 children, several grand and great-grand children, two half sisters, nephews and nieces, a score of loving cousins and adoring friends, and last, but not least, her two most beloved grand kitties.
In Loretta’s Heaven there is constant laughter, scores of animals and children in a tranquil garden. Always close at hand are a great fishing hole, a good poker game, Toyotas, Chevys, family, friends and precious pets. Her grand-kitties are happily purring on her lap while young children are giggling and joyfully running all around her. Blake Shelton is always in the background serenading her. All meals include pasta, beer, lemon meringue pie, and perhaps a bit (3-26 pieces) of chocolate hid under her pillow each night. Every day is filled with family, beautiful music, multiple family Tri-ominos and Yahtzee games, and lots of word search and Sudoko puzzles. Jesus, Conway Twitty, James Dean, Melissa McCarthy, and Sandra Bullock are her faithful friends that keep her spirits soaring. Blake Shelton, George Clooney and Andy Garcia are her not so secret lovers.
With deepest gratitude to the multitude of loving caregivers and providers, and last, but certainly not least, the special “Be there in a minute!” angels. Thank you for all of your dedicated loving care and support of our beloved Mother in her greatest and most vulnerable times of need. Her excellent quality of life would not have been possible without all of you. It truly takes a village and she had the kindest and most supportive, loving village. Grizzly and family, you have been an absolute blessing with your kind, compassionate, and loving care for our beloved Mother; there are not adequate words to describe the depth of our love, respect, and gratitude.
Loretta’s wishes were to be cremated and have her name inscribed on a memory wall at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, California where her many family members and friends including her cherished sister, Brenda, both of her beloved grandparents, adored aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends are memorialized. There will be a community memorial service held at Holy Sepulchre to honor the lives of Loretta and others who have recently passed. Details will be posted at: https://www.cfcsoakland.org/location/holy-sepulchre-cemetery-funeral-center-fd1456/
Loretta’s lifelong club has officially been elevated.
In lieu of flowers, Loretta would have been honored to have donations made to any food bank or animal shelter. Her favorite animal shelter was C.A.T.S. in Medford, Oregon.
