Loretta "June" Giorvas

Loretta “June” Giorvas - age 90 peacefully passed away of natural causes at home surrounded by family on May 2, 2021. June was born Aug. 13, 1930 in Oklahoma City, OK. At age 10 her family moved to San Francisco where she later attended Commerce High School. June worked at Kraft Foods in San Francisco where she met and married her sweetheart, Jim in 1952. Jim said one day “where do you think you’re going?” June said “I’m going to win the raffle with this ticket!” She was a lucky lady, always having good fortune and was known to have the winning ticket!” Jim & June were married for 65 years, when Jim preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 2017. They lovingly called each other “mine”... June was preceded in death by her son, Jackie and a great granddaughter born prematurely, Brooklyn. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. June loved to sew, embroider, crochet, golf, play train dominoes, collect nativities and travel. She was a wonderful hostess from family dinners to doll club luncheons to family style dinners at the Marble Mountain Ranch Resort which she ran with her husband in the 1970’s. They worked at Diamond Lake Resort together during the 1980’s, and then vacationed there every summer through 2020! June loved planning family vacations at Diamond Lake. She was a professional seamstress, making clothing, dolls, coats and bonnets for her 2 girls to business dresses for her best friend, Rose Curtis. She made quilts for all her granddaughters, and hundreds of doll clothes. She belonged to the Pear Blossom Doll Club and So. Oregon Doll Club. She volunteered at Providence Hosp. delivering mail to patients & working in the gift shop, etc. She golfed into her 80’s having to give it up due to Jim’s needs at home. Traveling was a highlight for Jim & June, Greece, Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii, and more. Earlier this year she was asking if she could go on another cruise! She traveled all over the US & Mexico in their Airstream trailer. She lived life to the fullest, always putting family first, she was the most generous Mom, grandmother and great-grandmother helping everyone in need, or just being her generous self. She earned the nickname “money bags!” All who knew June remembers her as being kind, compassionate, loving, generous, and just plain fun! She loved to socialize with everyone. She leaves behind 3 children, Judy (Tim) Smith, Jim (Karol) Giorvas, & Joann (Lee) Foerster, 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Honoring her wishes, no funeral was held. June was laid to rest on May 21, 2021 at Eagle Point National Cemetery along with her husband, Jim & son Jackie.
