Mark Douglas Flickinger, 61, of Central Point, Oregon, died Wednesday, November 6, 2019.
Mark was born August 11, 1958, in Saint Charles, Illinois to Richard and Marilyn Flickinger. He attended Cardinal Stritch University in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he graduated with honors in 1998 with a degree in Business.
On September 26, 1981, Mark married Debra Joy Mader of Wheaton, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Navy, stationed in San Diego, California. He raised his family in northern Wisconsin for 21 years where he worked as a manager in the healthcare division for The ServiceMaster Company. He was a member of Maranatha Evangelical Free Church, Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
Mark and Debra settled in southern Oregon, in 2007 where he started a professional window cleaning business, The Window Man 1, LLC. His father, Richard mentored Mark as a chaplain during his Clinical Pastoral Education, four units at a level 2. Mark served as a chaplain at Pinnacle Healthcare, Providence Medical Center, and Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center for 10 years.
In addition to his wife with whom he shared 38 years of marriage, survivors include a son Justin (Mary) Flickinger of Grants Pass, Oregon; a daughter, Jennifer (Bryan) Good of Central Point, Oregon; four grandchildren, Cole, Bryce, Kyrsten, and Kayiie; his mother Marilyn Flickinger of Grants Pass, Oregon; two sisters, Robin (Jack) Clift of Spokane, Washington, and Lisa (Marty) Clapp of Grants Pass, Oregon; and five nephews, and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard, and his sister Shelly Rae.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Applegate Christian Fellowship in the main sanctuary.
