Obituary

Maxine Eastman Jackson, 89, of Medford, Oregon, passed away on April 8. She was born on April 24, 1936, in Afton, Wyoming, to Carl and Lucille Stock. A follower of Christ, Maxine was known for being friendly and charitable.

She spent much of her life in California, where she and her husband, Bud Eastman, cofounded Eastman Studios, Guitar Player magazine, and Musician Supply. After selling the businesses and retiring, they moved to Lake Creek, Oregon, where they purchased EZ Bar Ranch.  Being entrepreneurs at heart, they turned the ranch back into a working ranch and raised exotic animals.  Bud passed away in 1991.

Later, Maxine met William “Bill” Jackson while traveling in Australia with friends. They married in 1995 and shared many happy years enjoying family, friends, ranch life, and extensive travel, especially cruises. Maxine also devoted time to hospital volunteer work and her involvement in a doll club, and she loved ocean sailing, sewing, and travel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lucille Stock; her husband, Bud Eastman; her son, Steve Eastman; and her siblings, Kent Stock, Duane Stock, La Rue Ary, and Karen Andre. She is survived by her husband, Bill Jackson; her sister, Sharen Peterson; her daughter, Sheri Dinardi and husband Al, with their family; the family of her late son, Steve Eastman; her son, Robert Eastman and wife DeAnna, with their family; and Bill’s children, Kim and Billy, and their family.

A private family funeral will be held on April 15. A Celebration of Life will be held at Trail Christian Fellowship in Eagle Point on April 17 at 2:00 PM, with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Pacific Bible College, Medford, Oregon.
