Michael (Mike) Schiel, 66, of Shady Cove, Oregon, passed away on November 25, 2023. Mike was born to Norman and Geraldine Schiel on March 19, 1957 in Lincoln Park, Michigan and had five siblings: Trisha, Larry, Debbie, Steve, and Norm. He then went on to spend the majority of his life in Southern California. He was an accomplished house painter by trade - owning his own business, M&J Painting, alongside his sons for several years. Mike will be remembered for his love of fishing and motorcycle obsession, but also for his gentleness with animals and open door policy with his childrens friends for Friday night dinners. He had a special ability to make others laugh and a truly unique talent for storytelling. Though his life was complicated, he cared deeply for his family and did not hesitate to help others when they needed it. Mike is survived by his six children: Amy, Mike, John, Kevin, Kelsey, and Kaitlyn. We will miss him dearly. He declined having a traditional funeral, but instead requested that his children sprinkle his ashes in Seven Oaks, California where he frequently took them fishing. Additionally, a celebration of life party will be held in 2024 - a date will be determined at a later time.
