Obituary

Monica Marie "MoMo" Verboomen, a beacon of love and adventure, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024, in Eagle Point, Oregon, at the age of 45. Born on December 4, 1978, in Alturas, California, to Gerald "Jerry" Verboomen and Patricia "Diane" Kuehn, Monica's vibrant spirit and infectious enthusiasm for life touched everyone she met.

MoMo grew up in a world filled with love and laughter, surrounded by her devoted parents and her sister, Sarah Dolmage, who would become a lifelong friend and confidant. The family's bond was a testament to the values of unity and support that Monica would carry with her throughout her life.

Her academic pursuits were as diverse and passionate as her interests. Monica earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Psychology, and Nursing, reflecting her multifaceted personality and her desire to understand and help others. Her career was marked by an unwavering commitment to the welfare of those she served, guided by her innate sense of compassion and empathy.

Monica's personal life was as rich and full as her professional one. She was a loving mother to her two sons, Michael and Hayden Craig, who were the center of her world. Her love for them was boundless, and she instilled in them the values of kindness, curiosity, and the importance of family. Monica's father, Jerry, along with her stepmother Leora, and her mother, Diane, along with her stepfather Rainer, remained integral parts of her life, offering support and wisdom at every turn.

Her sister, Sarah, and brother-in-law, Chris Dolmage, shared in many of Monica's adventures and were cherished companions throughout her journey. Her family was her fortress, and she was their heart, always providing a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, and a hand to hold.

MoMo was a woman of many passions. She found joy in the simplicity of softball games, the thrill of beachcombing and rock collecting, and the creativity of crafting. Her love for music was evident in her excitement for concerts, where she could be found dancing and singing along with every lyric. Camping trips and travel adventures were frequent, as Monica sought to experience the beauty and diversity of the world with her loved ones.

Those who knew Monica would describe her as loving, selfless, and adventurous. She approached every day with a zest for life and a heart ready to give. Her presence was a source of comfort and happiness for her family and friends, who knew they could always count on her to brighten the darkest of days.

The legacy Monica leaves behind is one of joy, generosity, and the courage to embrace Life's journey. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

Monica's life was a beautiful mosaic of moments spent with those she loved, exploring the wonders of the world and making a difference in the lives of those around her. As we bid farewell to MoMo, we celebrate the extraordinary woman she was and the indelible mark she has left on this world.

Monica Marie Verboomen's light may have dimmed on this earth, but her spirit will shine on through the love she shared and the lives she touched. We take solace in knowing that her journey continues, not in our presence, but in the vast expanse of our memories and the legacy of love she has bequeathed to us all.
