IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia Hogan
Brann
January 11, 1939 – June 20, 2024
Patricia "Tish" Hogan Brann, age 85, resident of Medford, OR and formerly of Palo Alto, CA, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024. Tish was born on January 11, 1939, the daughter of Joseph F. and Rose H. Hogan, in Kansas City, MO. In 1941, her family relocated to Oakland, CA and then San Francisco, CA. In 1970 she was introduced to Wallace H. Brann, Jr. ("Wally") and the two were married on December 27, 1970 and enjoyed 50 happy years of marriage.
Tish graduated from Star of the Sea Academy, San Francisco, CA in 1956, and then joined the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in Los Angeles. She earned her BA in Education from Mount St. Mary's College, Los Angeles, graduating in 1960. After leaving the convent in 1969, she returned to the Bay Area to continue her teaching career. She went on to achieve her Masters of Science Degree in Education from California State University, Hayward in 1994. She enjoyed her 54-year career as a teacher immensely, teaching all grades from Kindergarten to 8th, and then working at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, OR in the education department. She found great satisfaction from the connections and bonds with her students over the years and found it very difficult to retire in 2014.
Tish loved her family above all and was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She also enjoyed golf, music, and spending time with family and friends. In her retirement she enjoyed spending time with Wally and traveling around Oregon.
She is survived by her daughters, Robin (Kurt) Seyfarth, and Jennifer (Eric) Crippen; grandchildren Jeannette (Jonathan) Kasemir, Shingo Brann, David and Steven Seyfarth; brothers and sisters in-law MaryJo & Jack Follett and Jean MacCurdy; Bill Hogan; seven nieces and six nephews.
Tish is preceded in death by her parents Joseph F. and Rose H. Hogan; siblings, Martha Hogan, Joseph F. Hogan Jr., and Paul Hogan; her son, Scott Brann. She will be laid to rest with Wally in Medford, OR at Siskiyou Memorial Park.
To honor Tish, the family requests that friends donate to the Alzheimer Association .
