Patricia Louise Zimmer, 89, longtime resident of Gold Hill, Oregon passed away on Wednesday April 3, 2024 in her cheerful apartment at Waterford Assisted Living in Medford (with the best view of Roxy Ann Peak from her two large picture windows) after a valiant, progressive battle with congestive heart failure.

She was born and lived almost her entire life in Gold Hill, Oregon, the youngest of seven children born to James and Alta Clement. Her oldest brother and sister both died before she was born. She met and married Orin (Bill) Zimmer from Grants Pass in October 1954. They were the parents of five: twin daughters, Jackie and Jan; a son Joe; and two more daughters, Jeanne and Jeri.

She was a convert and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and brought her five children to church from Gold Hill to Medford alone for many years. She served in Relief Society, Primary, Young Women's, went to Girls Camp and had a passion for Temple and Family History work. She was a hard worker, worked seasonally packing pears, roses and gift boxes, and worked in sales at Fletcher Viking and Sewing for many years before retiring at age 72. She loved sewing and decorative embroidery and shared her talents with family by making clothing for all her grandchildren. She loved nature and had a green thumb. Plants would thrive in her care. She loved African Violets, Orchids, Roses, Blooming Christmas Cactus and many others. She loved the deer, turkey and hummingbirds that visited her Galls Creek home.

She was dearly loved by many and will truly be missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bill in December 2022, and daughter Jeri Zimmer in February 2019, as well as her parents and siblings.

She is survived by four children: Jacquelin Reed Ostler (Brad) of Nephi, Utah, Janice Z. Smith (Greg), Joseph M. Zimmer (Kelly), and Jeanne Vitus, all of Medford, Oregon. She has 19 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.

Patricia was buried in a small private family gather at Eagle Point National Cemetery on April 9, 2024 next to her husband.

There will be a memorial service for her on Friday April 26, at 11:00 AM at the Brookhurst LDS Church Building, 2141 Brookhurst St, Medford, Oregon 97504.
