I am a very close friend to his niece Sarah Symmank Shearer. I first met her at the Leonard summer reading program where she brought her kids and she would stay and help me for fun. Then I taught her son Joe in kindergarten and she helped me all of the time. Then she continued to help me with summer reading until she got hired at Leonard elementary. Now she is an amazing third grade teacher who teaches writing and science. When I read that her uncle had published over 300 hymns it made total sense. She is so creative and so intelligent. It must run in the family. God bless all of you. I am so sorry for your loss.

Pastor Symmank confirmed me as an adult 50 years agI. He married my husband 50 years ago. He baptized both of my kids. We had a chance to travel with Chuck and Joan on a trip or two. Lots of memories. Especially when both rooms were woke up at two in the morning by Bob for breakfast. The one cruise I told the photographer that the guy on my left was my dad and the one on my right was my hubby. I continued with Thelma and jerry and Bob and Mary. I ended with pastor married us and Joan taught my kids in school. The man said he did not think I could repeat it. Of course I could.
