Robert passed away December 19, 2018 at Rogue Regional Medical Center. He was born December 6, 1947 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Keith and Sally Kennedy. He attended Grants Pass schools graduating in 1966. He attended Oregon State University and what is now Southern Oregon University receiving a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. While at SOU he met and married his wife of 47 years Ann. Robert began working for the Jackson County Sheriff's Department while attending college. What started as a summer job turned into a 33 year career culminating with being elected to the office of Sheriff for two four year terms. After retirement he enjoyed traveling and fishing in Alaska with friends and family and golfing at Rogue Valley Country Club where he was a long time member. Robert was active in the Bear Creek Valley Rotary where he took great pleasure in arranging the clubs weekly guest speaker programs. Robert is survived by his wife Ann, sister in-law Helen (Denis Schmitz), brother in-law David Colwell and several cousins, nieces, nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother William. Robert will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
