Obituary

Sandy Lee Shaw, born February 9, 1939, in Bell, California, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, in Medford, Oregon. He was 85 years old.

Sandy was the beloved son of Harry and Roberta Shaw and grew up in Thousand Oaks, California. He attended Conejo School and graduated from Moorpark High School in 1956. On November 22, 1957, Sandy married Sue, his childhood sweetheart and the girl next door. Their loving partnership spanned an incredible 67 years.

Sandy began his career working briefly at the Fisher Body Chevrolet plant in Van Nuys, California, before helping his father establish a radiator business. In 1963, he joined the Ventura County Sheriff's Department, where he served with dedication until 1978. Sandy and Sue later owned and operated Donna Lee Donuts in Camarillo, California, until their retirement in 1987. The couple then relocated to Medford, Oregon, in 1988 to begin a new chapter of their lives.

A man of precision and passion, Sandy found joy in motorsports, including high-performance cars, boats, motorcycles, and airplanes. He also cherished time spent with his family and had a deep commitment to caring for others. Since 1997, Sandy was an active member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Medford.

Sandy is survived by his devoted wife, Sue; his children Mark Shaw (Gemma), Joi Elliott (Randy), and Carla Shaw; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. His legacy of love and dedication will live on through his family and all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 7th, at 1 p.m., at Eastwood Baptist Church, 675 N. Keene Way Drive, Medford, Oregon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Asante Hospice or Eastwood Baptist Church.
