IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Susan "Sue" Margaret
Jackson
March 28, 1956 – March 13, 2024
With a heart full of love and a spirit as vibrant as the southern sun, we bid a fond farewell to Susan Margaret Jackson, known affectionately to all as Sue. Born on March 28, 1956, in Fresno, California, Sue embarked on a journey that would span nearly seven decades, culminating in her peaceful passing on March 13, 2024, in Medford, Oregon. She was a beacon of love and faith, a testament to the power of generosity, and an embodiment of the grace that guides us through life's winding roads.
Sue's early years laid the foundation for a life rich with purpose and service. Her academic pursuit at Copper Mountain College was but the first step in what would become a lifelong commitment to the well-being of others. Graduating with a heart as ready to heal as her hands, Sue embraced her calling as a Registered Nurse, a role she fulfilled with unparalleled compassion and excellence. Her care for her patients was a clear reflection of her faith-filled life, and her teachings within her church's Children's Ministry was a testament to her devotion to nurturing young souls.
The roots of Sue's family tree ran deep and wide, with branches that reached towards the heavens and leaves that whispered tales of love in every rustle. She was one of nine brothers and sisters, each of whom she loved with all of her heart. She was a cherished mother to her beloved children, Josh Roy, Shaunna Tibbetts, and Joseph Jackson. Each of them was a shining star in her sky, guiding her through the nights and celebrating with her during the days. Her legacy continues through her nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, each bringing overwhelming joy and love to her life with every moment spent with them.
Sue's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with threads of joyous moments and shared experiences. Her passion for reading was a gateway to worlds beyond, while her love for spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, anchored her firmly in the beauty of the present. As a movie buff, she traveled through stories and time, finding joy and laughter in the flicker of the screen. Her love for traveling took her on adventures far and wide.
In every action and every word, Sue was loving, faith-filled, and generous. To meet her was to know kindness, to know her was to experience the embrace of unconditional love. Her life was a sermon, not spoken but lived, a message of hope and grace that resonated in the hearts of all who knew her.
As we gather to remember and celebrate Sue's life, let us recall the words of the Psalmist, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). In this moment of parting, we draw comfort from this promise, knowing that Sue's spirit is now cradled in the arms of the Almighty, free from the earthly bounds that once held her.
Sue's journey on this earth has come to a gentle end, yet her spirit continues to dance among us, a waltz of memories that will forever keep time with the rhythm of our hearts, leaving behind a legacy of love that will echo through the ages.
We shall not say goodbye, for Sue's story is far from over. It lives on in the laughter of her grandchildren, in the healing touch of her children, and in the countless lives she touched with her generous soul. Let us carry her memory as a lantern in the dark, guiding us towards the path of love and righteousness that she walked so gracefully.
Rest now, dear Sue, in the eternal embrace of our Lord, until we meet again on that golden shore. Your life was a hymn of love, and we are all the richer for having sung it with you. Amen.
