Thomas Joseph Harmon, a very much loved brother, uncle and cousin passed away
peacefully on July 22, 2021. He was 68.
Tom (Joe) was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Margaret (Ana) Harmon. He
is survived by many who dearly loved him, a brother, John with his wife Mary Kay, of
Medford, OR, and sisters Margaret (Nell) Villanueva with husband Dan, of Dallas, TX
and Mary (Doody)Harmon of Homewood, IL. He also leaves many nieces, nephews,
grand nieces, nephews and cousins.
The first years of Tom's life he lived in Douglas, AZ. When Tom was young, he and his
family moved to Medford, OR. Later in his life Tom lived with family in Dallas, TX.
Tom's gift to all who knew him was his presence. He had the ability to sense when a
gentle pat on the shoulder followed with an "I love you" was needed. This simple
gesture was Tom's trademark. A secret wink was also another way Tom conveyed he
was aware of someone in need of his love, his quiet attention.
Tom enjoyed listening to music, Johnny Cash being a favorite. He especially enjoyed
watching Westerns and Bonanza was at the top of this list. As Tom listened to music or
watched a show, his most favorite activity was to feel the texture of "little things."
(sequins and beads) This tactile and soothing activity was a classic Tom behavior.
Tom will be greatly missed by all of his family and his friends but we are sustained
by his legacy, his blessing, which is his approach to life--Enjoy the "little things" and be
sure to give lots of gentle pats to show you care.
A service will be celebrated and shared on Thursday, July 29th at 11am with the burial
