In Loving Memory of

Victor Jose Gomez

February 15, 1982 – October 31, 2026

Victor Jose Gomez, age 44, passed away on October 31, 2026, leaving behind family, friends, and a community of fellow wildland firefighters who will remember him for his dedication, passion, and the connections he made throughout his life.

Victor was born to Trinidad Muñoz de León and Paulino Gomez Sr. He grew up surrounded by family and shared a lifetime of memories with his siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Victor dedicated his career to wildland firefighting, a profession he truly loved. Beginning as an entry-level firefighter, he worked his way up to Crew Boss and Engine Boss, serving on the front lines and operating large fire engines throughout the west of the United States. A strong believer in job safety, he became a Certified Wildland Firefighter Instructor and trained dozens of others entering the profession. He took great pride in his work and the opportunity to teach, lead, and protect those working alongside him.

Family was equally important to Victor. He shared a special bond with his disabled sister and was always there to help care for and support her. Victor was a family man, who loved his wife and sons dearly.

Victor also shared a love for music, the outdoors, and especially the ocean. He enjoyed listening to music, spending time near the beach, and appreciating the simple moments that made life memorable. Whether surrounded by music, enjoying the shoreline, or spending time with people important to him, these were experiences that brought him happiness.

Victor is survived by his mother, Trinidad Muñoz de León; his wife, Roxy Summer Rose; his sons, Bryant Peters and Chad Gomez; his surviving siblings, Blanca Gomez, Luz Gomez, Jesus Gomez, Paulino Gomez, Mayra Garcia, Cynthia Gomez and Rodrigo Muñoz; and 13 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paulino Gomez Sr.

Victor leaves behind a legacy of dedication to a profession he loved, knowledge passed on to future generations of wildland firefighters, and family bonds that will continue through those who love and remember him.

Rest in peace, Victor. We hope you’re out there catching waves, walking the shoreline and dancing in the sand. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Victor Jose Gomez
